Photographer

“As the photographer, I am your most or least favorite person, depending on your comfort level in front of a camera.”

How I spend my days: I am a project manager for a large local health insurance company.  I currently manage operational and compliance issues that affect our behavioral health business team.

One word to describe myself: Curious.

A surprising thing about me: My love of photography comes from my grandfather (who I actually never met).  He was a very well known photographer in central MN during the first half of the 20th century, up until his death in 1948.  You can still find examples of his work in historical societies around the area.  I aspire to produce work that has as long of a legacy as his.  Even my professional name, J. Briol Images is a nod to him (H.A. Briol Images).

What I do for fun: Take photos, lots and lots of photos.

Volunteer activities: In addition to ODCT, I volunteer my photo services for The Como Friends Foundation and Wags and Whiskers Animal Rescue of Minnesota

Assistant Vocal Director

How I spend my days: I am a church music director, which means I get to sing and make beautiful music with wonderful people of all ages and from all walks of life.

My most enjoyable past theater role: Amalia in She Loves Me, because I love vanilla ice cream, and I always seem to be looking for a missing shoe! It was also my first venture back onto the stage after a long hiatus, and it reminded me of why I love community theater so much: so many talented, creative, kind and generous people working together to create something wonderful.

One word to describe myself: Collaborative.

A surprising thing about me: I’m NOT a morning person . . . but I’m definitely married to one. Bring on the coffee . . .

What I do for fun: I enjoy gardening, I’m a voracious reader, and I love traveling with my family.

Volunteer activities: I love to volunteer, especially at Woodbury Health Care Center, where I get to sing every week with this wonderful community of elders.

How I spend my days: I am a retired pollution control specialist. Now my time is spent gardening, crocheting, quilting, reading and hiking/geocaching with my sisters, daughter and grandson.

My most enjoyable past theater role: The devil in Der Bauer und der Teufel in high school. But I preferred working behind the scenes. And playing tricks on cast members. (For The Importance of Being Earnest, a lot of the cast members didn’t have time to catch dinner before the show, so we hid hamburgers in drawers and such.)

One word to describe myself: Optimistic.

What I do for fun: Geocaching, travel, hang with family and friends.

Young Fiona

How I spend my days: I attend St Ambrose and will be going into 7th grade in the fall. This summer I’m playing tennis and hanging out with friends and family.

My most enjoyable past theater role: Playing Avery/the lamb/President of the Fair in Charlotte’s Web – it was fun to play the different characters with different personalities in one show.

One word to describe myself: Happy

A surprising thing about me: My birthday is on Valentines Day.

What I do for fun: Gymnastics, golf, tennis, swim, hang out with friends/family.

Costumer

“I am working with the costume crew to create a fantastic look. My job was the bears and the pigs, oh my!”

How I spend my days: I am a retired nurse. I enjoy sewing, gardening and travel. I have been working in theater for over 50 years both on and off stage.

My most enjoyable past theater role: My favorite role was Mae Peterson in Bye Bye Birdie because I love character roles. My family swears I didn’t have to act to be her!

One word to describe myself: Creative.

A surprising thing about me: I write poetry.

What I do for fun: My husband Tom and I travel. We like to just wander and see what comes up!
