Open Door Community Theatre will continue to closely monitor COVID 19 infection rates in Washington County and changes in CDC/MDH guidance. We reserve the right to update our COVID 19 policies at any time based on changes to the macro environment and developing CDC/MDH recommendations.
What is ODCT doing to ensure that it’s safe to return to the theater?
ODCT is thrilled to be returning to the stage to continue our tradition of giving back to the community! Our highest priority is the health and wellness of our patrons, performers and volunteers. The ODCT Board developed these policies for COVID mitigation based on Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) guidance. Our COVID 19 policies align with many other performing venues in our area. We will continue to monitor COVID 19 infection rates and emerging guidance, and will adjust our protocols as necessary to ensure safety.
What are ODCT’s current policies regarding COVID 19 for audience members?
To ensure the safety of our performers, volunteers and patrons, ODCT’s board of directors has mandated the following policies:
- All patrons and volunteers are strongly encouraged to wear a face mask securely covering their noses and mouths in the venue (except while actively eating and drinking in designated areas). N95, KN95 and surgical masks are strongly recommended. Gaiters, scarves or bandanas are discouraged.
- While proof of vaccine or negative COVID 19 test is not currently required for patrons, we reserve the right to adjust our policies as needed in order to ensure the safety of patrons, performers and volunteers.
- Please continue to monitor ODCT’s COVID 19 policies at https://opendoorcommunitytheatre.org/covid-safety-protocols/. Ticket holders will receive an email reminder one week before opening night outlining ODCT’s COVID 19 policies.
What are my options if I can’t attend my ticketed performance due to illness, COVID exposure or positive test?
We’d be happy to exchange your tickets for a different performance, offer you a voucher for tickets to a future ODCT show, or transfer your tickets to another party. Feel free to reach out to us at tickets@opendoorcommunitytheatre.org for assistance.
What are ODCT’s COVID-19 policies for performers and volunteers?
All ODCT cast, crew and volunteers are required to be fully vaccinated. In order to be considered fully vaccinated, an individual’s last dose of an FDA-authorized vaccine must have been administered at least 14 days before the audition or first point of volunteer contact.
Performers must present proof of vaccination at the time of their audition. Proof of vaccination may include a physical card or a photo of a complete vaccination card that matches the patron ID, or digital immunization records such as Docket or Clear.
While there is no requirement for performers to be boosted, booster status may be a consideration in casting decisions.
Our production staff have developed protocols around masking and social distancing to mitigate risks associated with indoor rehearsals. Masks will be worn for all rehearsals, and performers will perform unmasked with the aforementioned precautions taken
